I was a senior in college when my professor asked the class to do a project on our career and life goals. We were asked to think about our goals and present on them in class. I’ve never really aspired to climb the corporate ladder or reach the top of my game in a certain career path. So after much thought and introspection, I decided that what I really wanted in life was adventure. I wanted to be able to look back on all I’d done in life and see adventure in every new step.

Starting this travel blog has been one of the biggest adventures so far. I knew nothing about the world of blogging and online media when I bought the Archives of Adventure domain. I knew nothing about SEO or graphic design or even decent photography. When I started blogging in 2015, I had no idea the journey that this website would take me on.
I’ve met incredible and inspiring people around the world. I have had countless adventures across the globe. I’ve worked with great companies and shared hundreds of stories. I’ve gained new skills and taught myself many lessons through running this site. When I started, I had no idea where this blog was going to take me in the future, but I have built what I believe to be a pretty dang good travel blog- something I’m incredibly proud of.

That being said, 2019 has been a bit of a struggle on this blog. Even though I’m continuing to see growth in my reports, I have felt a bit distant from the joy of blogging I’ve experienced in the past. I think partly this is because I haven’t been on a trip since last July, so I don’t have many new and exciting things to write about.
It’s beginning to feel like my fire for blogging is fading.
It’s beginning to feel like it’s time for a new adventure.

The last couple of months have been a bit tough for my little family here in Michigan. We have come up against a number of things which have left our future full of many unknowns. But in everything, one thing has been clear: It’s time for something new.
So with my thirst for a new adventure, I began looking into new paths for my career and exploring something I’ve had in the back of my mind for many years. After much research, many applications, and a few phone calls, the door to a new adventure has been opened.
With that being said, I’m really excited to announce that I’ll be taking over the position of Coordinator of Study Abroad for a small University in Wisconsin! I’m so excited to be taking my mission of inspiring people to travel and fulfilling it face-to-face with university students!

So what does that mean for Archives of Adventure?
This blog has become like my baby. I grew it and developed it from scratch. I’ve put countless hours into it. I’ve cried over it. It’s not something I’m planning to just toss in the trash and never look back. Archives will still be live and active. I still have articles I want to share with all of you, I just may be a little more inconsistent than I have been in the past.
Plus, I’m moving to a whole new state, which means plenty of mini adventures on the weekends! I know pretty much nothing about Wisconsin except for the fact that it’s known for cheese. So I’m excited to get to explore a new state and share my discoveries with you!

I want to thank every one of you who has been with me through this journey of blogging. From readers, to fellow bloggers, to amazing blogging mentors- thank you for your continuous support. I would not have been able to keep this blog up for so many years without all of you.
Now onto my next adventure…
