London in One Day Part II: What Did I Miss?

January 23, 2016
LONDON

Even though I managed to see a lot of London in one day, there are quite a few things that I feel like I missed in my short time there. If I’m ever back in London, here are more things I would like to check off my list:

Peter Pan Statue in Kensington Gardens

I really wanted to see the Peter Pan statue in Kensington Gardens. As the story goes, Kensington Gardens is where Peter Pan flies off too when he overhears talk of his growing up. He gets stuck there upon learning from a crow that he cannot, in fact, fly. Gosh, I love children’s stories. Any way, I really wanted to hang out in Kensington Gardens and keep an eye out for faeries, but unfortunately I ran out of time and made the choice that it was too dark to walk through a park on my own.

Meat Pie

I’ve had meat pies in Australia and they are heavenly. I was on a mission to find me a good English meat pie and I seriously could not find a single one. The exception being at fancy pubs where the pies cost upwards of 10 pounds… No thanks. Don’t need one that badly.

The Tower of London

But Brianna…you did go to the Tower of London…
Well yes, but I didn’t go in the Tower of London. While I’m really not much for wandering through museums, I’m rather intrigued by the dark history it holds. I would probably cough up the entrance fee to take a peek around.

The River Cruise

My tour bus ticket included a short cruise on the River Thames. I never got to use it since I was more focused on visiting the sights on land, but it would have been neat to have gotten a quick cruise on the river.

Borough Market

I hadn’t actually heard of this one until a few months ago. But since I am a sucker for a good market, Sign me up!

Borough market is a good un! But it is very expensive unfortunately 🙁 same goes for Camden market which has some great food stalls, but you won’t find anything under a £5 which is a shame – street food is meant to be cheap! I’d recommend checking out primrose hill for good views over the whole city, this is also a short walk from Camden lock and London Zoo and Regents Park.
If you go further afield – Richmond is gorgeous and you can go to Richmond park and go deer spotting! 🙂

Since then, I’ve been on a mission to see the world. I'm an ordinary adventurer here to show you how the average person can travel the world.
