If you're looking for an affordable place to stay in Timisoara, don't waste your time researching and scouring reviews: FreeBorn Hostel is the way to go.

The Good

→ The atmosphere at FreeBorn Hostel can be felt the moment you walk through the doors. You can tell that this is a chilled place for people from all walks of life to enjoy. With vibrantly colored, themed rooms and colorful murals throughout the space, FreeBorn Hostel makes guests feel welcomed, no matter who you are. The hostel promotes community by providing great common spaces both outdoors and indoors, with ping-pong tables, comfy seating spaces, and a well-stocked entertainment area with DVDs, video games, and music.

→ FreeBorn Hostel is a great place to stay, because they have things in place to make their guests feel safe. The front entry to the hostel is inconspicuous and blends in well with the surrounding buildings. Inside, guests are given lockers for their items, with the locks provided. The bunk beds in the dorm rooms have curtains, which allows for a certain level of comfort and security when sleeping, as well.

→ The staff at FreeBorn Hostel are just awesome. The owner, Raul, does his very best to make each individual guest feel welcome. Upon arrival, he will happily show you around the hostel, and make recommendations about what to see in Timisoara. He is an excellent resource for new travelers to the area, and his passion for the city is obvious.

The Bad

→ As a girl who likes her sleep, I found that quiet times weren’t really enforced at FreeBorn Hostel. That being said, I never had problems falling asleep, despite this.

→ I was so not prepared for Timisoara to be as cold as it was when I visited. It was cold enough for small snowflakes to fall one morning! With two of the main bathrooms being in an outside building, this led to some chilly morning potty breaks!

The Best Part

→ The absolute best part of FreeBorn Hostel is its location. Timisoara is a small, walkable city in itself. But FreeBorn Hostel is located just a 2 minute walk from one of the city’s most lovely squares, along with dozens of restaurants and shopping locations. Visiting during a cold and rainy spell, the hostel’s location made it easy to stop by and warm up before continuing to explore Timisoara.

If you're looking for an affordable place to stay in Timisoara, don't waste your time researching and scouring reviews: FreeBorn Hostel is the way to go.

Overall

If I ever return to Timisoara, I would not hesitate to stay with FreeBorn Hostel again. And with so many fun different rooms, why wouldn’t I? For a place with a great atmosphere, an unbeatable location, and affordable prices, you’ve got to stay with FreeBorn Hostel.
